In this particular instance, we had a lovely customer who had a small dog she absolutely adored. She wanted the little dog to have a comfortable spot outside, so she invested in artificial turf.
Unfortunately, while it was a sizable purchase, the results were anything but expected. In the end, she ended up needing our shading services. And we did not disappoint.
How Artificial Turf Prompted The Need For An Awning

Unfortunately, the same couldn’t be said for the person who sold our customer the artificial turf. They failed to tell her about the impact of direct sun exposure.
Sunlight causes artificial turf to heat up to incredibly hot temperatures, making it terribly uncomfortable to walk on, especially for tiny paws.
The homeowner needed a solution quickly, so she purchased an awning to provide shade over the turf, making her second major investment into her dog’s comfort.
As with everything in her home, she was very particular about the placement of this awning, which made this shading solution project quite interesting. But at The Home Living Company, we always do what’s right for you and go the extra mile.
Determining The Optimal Awning Position

If you’ve never seen an awning installed, it’s not a quick fix to move it just a few inches.
It requires removing the awning and brackets, reattaching the brackets, and then replacing the awning in them. Happy with her final decision, we left, thinking the job was done.
But we’d soon hear from her again.
We Came Back For One More Awning Adjustment
A few months later, we received a call from the same customer. She changed her mind about the awning’s position again and wanted us to return it to its original suggested location.
We were more than happy to make the adjustments she requested.
This time, we also added a complementary shade that runs down the side of the awning for added protection for her dog. Incidentally, we did hear from this customer one more time – she ended up misplacing the remote control for her awning and needed a replacement.
When we returned with the remote, she enthusiastically greeted us and thanked us repeatedly for all the hard work we put into her awning installation.
