We Saved Steve And His Retractable Awning From A Handyman Nightmare

We Saved Steve From Handyman Headaches
By Installing His New Retractable Awning
Our Installation Transformed This Stressful
Experience Into An Exceptional One
If you’ve ever considered installing a retractable awning at your San Francisco Bay Area home, hiring a professional installer from the start should be a priority.
Steve didn’t realize how complex the installation process was and decided to purchase his new retractable awning directly from the manufacturer. He firmly believed he’d have it installed in no time with the help of a few local handymen.
I made the mistake of buying my Sunsetter awning directly from the Sunsetter factory, thinking that I could just hire some handymen to install it. Sunsetter didn’t help too much by suggesting this could easily be done. WRONG.
Unfortunately, Steve quickly learned it wasn’t so easy and that these individuals weren’t equipped to handle the task.
I initially hired three “handymen” to do the job and within just a few minutes, realized they were not up to installing a 250 lb, motorized awning on a stucco wall 10 ft up.
Realizing his home was in danger due to the inexperience of the workers he hired, he decided to reach out to a local company. He found us at The Home Living Company.
So, I decided to bite the bullet and see if a window covering retailer like Home Living Window Fashions would install my existing awning, which had already been delivered from Sunsetter.
We quickly scheduled an in-home consultation to see what we could do for Steve and his predicament.
A Precise Outdoor Shading Solution Quote
When Steve called and explained his situation, we knew we were the team for the job. We sent a consultant to his home to assess the work area and provide a quote.
HLWF said no problem and sent out someone to look at what I had and measure up the outside situation. He then gave me an exact quote.
At that point, Steve noted that the quote was more than he was expecting. However, having seen the failed attempts of the previously hired workers, he understood the installation required specialized skills, knowledge, and equipment.
Yes, it was more than I expected. But I was now well aware of the expertise and equipment needed to do this installation job RIGHT. So, I said enough messing around and scheduled the installation.
For Steve, the value we routinely offer with our services would be well worth the price we quoted, so he hired us for the installation.
A Detailed Retractable Awning Installation
Many business owners sit back and let their workers handle all the challenging aspects of the job. But that’s not how we operate. And this project was no exception.
One of our owners, Shem, was one of the installers, demonstrating his knowledge and expertise in the patio cover industry.
Steve noted how seamlessly the two installed his awning and addressed every detail.
Shem and Grant came out with all the equipment and very carefully and professionally installed this big awning PERFECTLY.
Perhaps what was even more impressive was how much information the two could share about Steve’s new patio shading solution. By the time they were finished with their conversation, Steve knew everything he needed to care for his new awning.
But here is the really good part that I hadn’t originally considered. These guys KNOW every detail of these awnings and how to use and care for them. They took the time to show me things and answer ALL of my questions about using and caring for my awning.
We don’t want to stop at delivering a beautiful installation – we want that installation to last. So, we’re more than happy to share all the tips and tricks we have for keeping your newly installed products clean and functional for as long as possible.
Now, Steve Can Grill In The Rain
At The Home Living Company, we want every aspect of your project to be flawless. Your products should be immaculate, and the installation seamless so you can enjoy your outdoor space as much as possible.
That’s why we’re so fixated on the details. And we even caught shipping damage on Steve’s new retractable awning.
Shem even noticed some small shipping damage (Sunsetter’s fault) and took pictures for me. But the damage isn’t really noticeable once installed, and everything works GREAT.
While Steve didn’t have the best start to his outdoor shading solutions experience, we helped turn it all around.
These motorized, retractable, remote-controlled awnings are wonderful. I have shade when I want it and sun when I want that. Oh, and I can now grill in the rain.
We’re thrilled we could make Steve’s outdoor living experience that much better. When you work with us, you can count on nothing short of the same care and attention to detail.
